As I ran up the stairs, I looked over my shoulder just in time to find Chad holding Rebecca down. Like I had suspected, she had attempted to run after me and was scowling like a wind beast. “Let me go, Chad! I’m going to kill her! I have to kill her!”

Panting heavily, I headed up the steps, stumbling a few times but managing to remain on my feet.
