“And if I say no?” I challenged, happy I sounded more courageous than I felt.
There was silence on the other end then a chuckle.
“Such spark,” he commented with a bit of appreciation. “If you say no, then I will be forced to find someone who will say yes. It’d be a shame to take the other dark-haired woman. But I bet she’d be fun to break.”
