Chapter 12

Mahlon was at work when he received a call. He initially disregarded it, but when Bruno contacted him again, he knew it was about Anastasia. He hired Bruno after he found out that he was friends with her, Anastasia, to keep him informed about her whereabouts. He spent a few years looking for Anastasia, but she was nowhere to be found. His grandfather and Francis tried to assist him in his search, but nothing came of it.

He couldn’t believe what he was hearing when Bruno told him Anastasia was back in the country, and he dropped out of the meeting.

When Bruno was invited to a friends’ outing at the cafeteria, he learned that it was Gilbert who assisted Anastasia when she went out of the country without asking for assistance; they didn’t tell him where they were staying, and he didn’t bother asking them. Gilbert gave Bruno a lot of warning looks, but he chose to go ahead. Keeping it hidden from his employer for a week was like an illness to him, and he wasn’t ready to reco
