Gilbert had been ignoring Eden for the past two weeks; her persistence to speak with her was overwhelming to him, and he couldn’t take it any longer; he had to call her to one of the private apartments to speak with her and end whatever was between them. He knew following his father’s words was very important at that moment because they were close to having everything they had planned for years; he just couldn’t let a woman destroy everything. If his father said no, he would comply.

Eden had been a part of him for a long time, and what they had was unexplainable to them; their attraction was everything, but he needed to find a way out of what they had.
