Authors POV
"Don't turn around now; his eyes are on you," Derinem ordered again. He was observing his brother, who was engrossed in a conversation with Jack yet still watching Maya.
He knew she wasn't comfortable with him being close, especially when his brother was not too far away. But what could he do? It was the only way he could meet her.
Finally coming home after meeting Dora, he hoped she'd be excited; he now believed her after speaking with the elderly servant, but Lina told him Damon had taken her along. So he decided to come down to her.
He was dressed all back with a giant hoodie that covered most of his face in its shade; surely Damon could not recognize him in this.
When Damon's gaze turned from her, he whispered again, "Sit erect, Maya,"
She did and turned to the side, her eyes falling on him, then she faced the counter again.
"You look different, sir Derinem." Her soft voice filled his ears.
