Chapter 32

Her fist clenched and unclenched. She turned to look at Manuel, who had his eyes wholly on Anna. Maya scoffed. Anyone who didn't know would want what Anna had.

She felt tired just standing there watching her betrayal take place. It seemed the alcohol had also kicked in, for she had to shake her head several times to keep the focus on everything going on.

No way she was going to let this damn wedding take place. No damn way she would make that bastard make a fool out of her! He would receive the repercussions, even if it meant using her blood. 

She moved out of the bench, slowly past people who seemed offended that her wobbly legs couldn't stay in place. And therefore protested. She did not go that far when Luca held her wrist.

She turned quickly to look at him and was met with his stern expression.

"What do you think you are doing, Maya?" He pulled her back gently, forcing her to sit back on the bench, then bent his face to hers. "look here, Maya!
