Chapter 36
As Maya observed him fixate on the picture a bit longer, her fear intensified, making it almost painful to breathe. She had no specific schedule for being in that particular place.
She watched him move to the picture and picked it up before turning it down.
Pity welled up in Maya as she observed the raw pain in his eyes, understanding why he hadn't moved on.
"You see, Maya, if you ask people, what do you think of President Giovanni?" he pulled his jacket off, threw it on a sofa, and proceeded to undo his cuff. "Some say he's a good man, generous, blah blah," he shrugged, "but some say 'he's a monster. The part of me experienced determines the response."
Maya shook her head, trying to stop her chest from heaving so much that she feared a heart attack.
His shirt sleeves folded to his arm, he stood before her, fist clenched.
He had salt and pepper hair cut in a low cut and generally was a fine man; he didn't just look pleasing to her at that moment.<
