Chapter 48

As soon as my aunt left, Uche hurried down the stairs to meet me. He looked a bit worried now, compared to how composed he was while talking to my aunt.

"Julie?" He called me, his tone sounding scared.

"Yeah?"

"Come with me, I need your help."

"What happened?" I had to ask, I was sure I have never seen him that worried. My mind immediately went to Nick. "Is Nick okay?" I asked.

"No." His answer was immediate.

"No? What happened?"

"Just come." He took my hands and we started up the stairs.

I didn't say anything else but I was scared as hell. We got to Nick's room and he opened the door but stopped suddenly. He started to look at the floor like he expected something or someone to be there.
