“Wasn’t that Cain?” He asked, but someone else discredited it.
“No, that person had a woman behind him. Definitely not Cain.”
“I think some of your guys just saw us,” Liana said loudly to him, worried he wouldn’t hear her through the breeze in their faces.
“They probably won’t know it’s me.”
“You think?” She asked, but he soon stopped the bike in front of a bungalow. She smiled, glad it wasn’t an apartment so she didn’t have to deal with staring eyes from gossiping neighbors like where she stayed with her roommate.
She watched as Cain twisted his key into the keyhole and the door opened into a quiet space, though not necessarily empty. Liana stepped inside and paused without meaning to. Her eyes swept through the place to determine if it was somewhere she could comfortably stay in and it was.
If not for anything, the place smelt like him, and didn’t reek of artificial fresheners. It just smelt like leather, and something warm underneath it all. Wo
