Chapter 29
Author’s POV
“Olivia!” Ethan shouted at the top of his lungs as he rushed towards her, shaking her gently. “Oli…Olivia,” he panicked. He carefully lifted her from the ground and dashed out of the house. Placing her gently in the backseat, he quickly got in the car and sped off to the hospital. Fear coursed through his veins as he stole glances at her pale face, noticing the amount of blood she had lost.
“Hang in there, Olivia. Please hang in there,” he pleaded. Arriving at the hospital, he rushed inside while carrying her in his arms. “I need a doctor immediately!” he yelled, placing her on a trolley brought by a nurse.
He assisted the nurse in wheeling her into the emergency room, feeling an overwhelming sense of guilt as he watched her motionless form.
“You’ll have to wait here, sir,” the nurse informed him, to which he nodded. He paced back and forth, consumed by guilt.
“What have I done?” he whispered to himself, rubbing his forehead with his hands.
