OLIVIA
“I said I wasn’t hungry!” I snapped at her, as she only nodded her head and walked out.
I looked at the tray and saw a note placed on top. With a sigh, I picked it up and read the words scrawled in his familiar handwriting.
“Olivia, I know you’re going through a lot right now. Please eat something, even if it’s just a little, take care of yourself and let me make it up to you—Ethan.”
I crumpled the note in my hand, feeling so angry. My father is dead because of him and his father, and now he wants to make it up to me because I’m pregnant with his child.
His concern felt fake, and it was challenging to accept this act he’s putting up after all that had happened. The nerve of him trying to play the caring husband now, as if a simple note and some food could erase the past.
