I stirred from my sleep, Ethan’s side of the bed was empty, a faint scent of his cologne lingering in the air. Rubbing my eyes, I sat up, feeling really sick, as I rushed to the bathroom to throw up.

Ethan had said something about an appointment with the gynecologist, and so I hurriedly got out of bed, the soft carpet brushing softly my bare feet as I made my way to the closet. Choosing a comfortable dress that accommodated my growing bump, I paused, my hand resting over the gentle curve that held the promise of the growth of a new life.

“Hi Tia,” I greeted once I picked up.

“Hey Liv, got any plans? Want to hang out today?”

“Yeah, but I’m not sure if you’d like to spend your day there.”
