I laid in bed, even though I’d been awake for half an hour. After the scare yesterday, it didn’t just feel right to leave her alone, much less today of all days.
I decided not to go to work today, I called Logan earlier than that though, family emergency and my wife needed me, to have all my appointments cancelled for today and probably the rest of the week. Olivia deserved more than the cold indifference I had shown her.
Finally getting out of bed and going to where the huge amount of noise was coming from in my house, I watched as she bustled around the kitchen. I watched her with a newfound appreciation for not leaving and for still keeping the baby. I wouldn’t have blamed her if she still insisted on ending the child back then.
