Stepping into the house, the glow of the hallway lights leading me to the nearest couch I could find, I laid down and rested my feet.
Finding the fluffiest couch, I laid flat on my back “I’m so tired,” I exhaled, feeling the weariness of the day settle in my bones. I heard Ethan securing the locks with a familiar click that echoed through the silence, his steps unhurried as he approached my side.
“Hey,” Ethan’s voice was gentle, a smile plastered on his face, “You look exhausted. Would you like me to run a bath for you?”
A grateful smile tugged at the corners of my lips, nodding in agreement to his suggestion. “I’d love that, but my feet feel so sore,” I murmured.
“Would you mind if I carried you then? And give your tiny feet a nice warm massage, while your bath is getting ready?”
Nodding my head with a smile, he lifted me up gracefully as we ascended the stairs and straight to our room.
