Spending three weeks in Melbourne was the right decision. After our conversation in Carlton Gardens, Gio didn’t mention Levi and Theo again. It was like our talk had never happened. I didn’t hear anything from Levi while I was in Melbourne—not even a single hello—and strangely, I was grateful for that. Though I left the spare key to the apartment to Levi, he didn’t ask me anything aside from wishing me a good trip. It was as if he knew I wanted to escape Bali for a while, but he didn’t want to say anything.

In short, only my parents knew the real reason I went to Melbourne. Even my work was completed as much as possible before I left. Luckily, no crises or major tasks disrupted my time there. Everything went just as I had planned.
