Chapter 105. Shattered and Ruined

The silence after her words was deafening. The only sound was their breaths colliding in the air, hers louder and ragged and uneven. His wolf growled inside of his body for release.

Finally, he exhaled sharply, “Fine, how about this?” His voice was almost pleading now, “How about you let me touch you... Just this once, and after today, I’ll stay the hell away from you, even after you get initiated, I’ll keep my distance from you. And whenever you’re ready to finally talk, or face this, we can...talk,” He breathed.

She shook her head again, “No...,” her lungs burned at his scent that had filled the room as she groaned again.

This was maddening. She couldn’t control herself. She didn’t know how much longer she could keep saying no to him.

“Just this once, Layla,” He eased into the bed, inching closer to where she sat, “It’ll be like it never happened. After today, we’ve never met. You won’t have to see my face again, and your wolf will grow calm again. I promis
