Chapter 29. Run

A shudder ran through her, and every hair in her body stood at its ends. Something about this reminded her of her final moment, how she had been dragged, poisoned and kicked into the Rogue’s pit.

“I wouldn’t give you the chance to!” She spat out.

He looked amused once again, “Oh, don’t worry, you’ll soon understand when the day comes when the truth is revealed and it all crumbles,” His voice dropped again, and his eyes burned with a look that made her swallow tightly, “You can feel that pull in your chest, right? Your mind recognises something you can’t put into words when you’re with me...it’s because you’re meant to be mine,”

His hand rose to touch her face, but she slapped it away. Her heart hammered inside her chest.

Something dangerous flickered inside his eyes, but he only chucked, the sound low and chilling.

“You’re fierce,” He said, “Just how I like it,”
