“Don’t. Don’t stand there with your smug calm like you don’t know what I’m talking about,” Rhiannon growled, “You’ve always known. From the beginning. The curse, the shifts, the way his mind slips, it started with you!”
Ezekiel tilted his head a bit, his voice maddeningly smooth, “Why would I curse Elijah?”
“That’s what I want to know!” Rhiannon shouted, “But nothing adds up. You circle around him like a vulture. You watch. You whisper things and vanish. You act like a seer and a coward all at once. So tell me, Ezekiel — what the hell did you do?” She demanded fiercely.
“You’re upset,” Ezekiel said flatly
“He’s losing himself! Every time he shifts, he comes back with less. He’s slipping and you know. You knew and you watched. So tell me, why?! What did Elijah ever do to you?” Rhiannon’s fangs were now visible, her canines had grown a bit longer.
Ezekiel’s smile faded, leaving a dark look in his eyes. There was a long silence. And then, he replied.
