Three hours passed.

Naina thought the effects of the aphrodisiac would have calmed down by now, but it was much worse than before.

His breath was now so shallow it sounded like he was barely taking any air into his lungs, and he was snarling more frequently now, still clawing at everything close to him. Plus, his scent was everywhere, so thick and intoxicating, even almost suffocating.

Naina knew very well that wolves in heat were dangerous, but this was far past that. This wasn’t lust anymore, it was full-on torment and it would badly affect him if this went on any longer without relief.

And there was still a little boy they needed to save.

Plus, she couldn’t bear it either. He was killing himself, and she needed to do something.

Her heart thundered as she stood, and her legs trembled with every step she took close to him. She couldn’t believe what she was doing, what she was about to do. She was willingly stepping into fire, about to truly betra
