Chapter 148
POV: Harin
When the pain subsides again, I breathe as before, but I pull him close to me, leaning on him to stand up and walk, even though he doesn’t understand anything.
“Where are you going?” he asks, but he helps me sit in the passenger seat.
I fasten my seatbelt, fearful and in pain. When I look at Jaewon, he’s still stunned next to me.
“Go, Jae, drive!” I say, making him startle as if waking up.
He quickly turns around and takes a deep breath as he fastens his seatbelt.
I notice Jaewon’s hands trembling; I wish I could hold them and ask for calm, but when I groan again, he even lets out a little scream, starting the car and pulling out of the parking lot.
“Where are we going? Wouldn’t it be better to call your brother? Oh my God, what about the bags? Has the pain passed? Are you okay? How do you feel? Talk to me, Harin!”
I manage to laugh even with pain because his panic is funny.
