POV: Harin

“Are you dating?” I heard your question, and Jaewon answered. When I raised my face again, Mom was smiling. “You’re going in the right direction.”

“What do you mean?” I asked, confused.

“He’s a handsome young man.”

“He is.”

“You’ll have beautiful children.”

I glanced at Jaewon and found reassurance in his gaze.

“Mom… we also have something else to tell.”

Mom nodded but shifted her gaze to Jaewon’s hand, which returned to touch me, this time on my belly.

Her eyes widened slowly.

“We’re already pregnant.”

Mom opened her mouth. She seemed surprised, but her reaction only made me feel my body freezing, my throat closing, and my breath failing.

I swallowed the lump in my throat, and I saw her stand up. Mom smiled, raising her arms. I awkwardly stood up too, not understanding anything, really.
