As we pulled away from the warehouse, I couldn’t help but glance back at the building where we’d just interrogated a man. The whole experience felt surreal.

“You’re quiet,” Alexander observed as we merged onto the main road.

“Just processing,” I replied, staring out the window. “It’s not every day I witness an interrogation.”
