I stepped further into the suite, my footsteps barely audible on the plush carpet. The murmur of voices grew clearer as I rounded the corner into the living area. There was Alexander, sitting in his usual commanding pose in the armchair, exuding an air of authority that was impossible to ignore.
Abigail lounged on the couch as she owned it, her perfectly styled hair cascading over her shoulders and her designer dress hugging her figure flawlessly. My stomach clenched at the sight of her, a mix of jealousy and confusion swirling within me. When did Abigail come to the resort? Did Alexander invite her?
I couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy, though I wasn’t entirely sure why. It wasn’t like Alexander and I had any romantic relationship, yet seeing Abigail comfortably settled on the couch made me uneasy.
