'Oh no, Hugo! What are you doing here?' I muttered under my breath while doing everything possible to avoid his gaze.

"What are you doing here, Hugo? You are supposed to be on supervision today." Alpha Rolan queried him calmly, then I noticed the understanding that passed between them and remembered that Hugo told me about their past friendship.

He cleared his throat and staring at him from the corner of my right eye, I found him glancing at me.

"Yes, I was on supervision until I was informed that Hermione and Tania were absent from the field today." He explained, and my heart churned. He didn't have to explain in details like that.

"Then you decided to come to the pack house to find out why she was absent, right?" He finished for him while I gathered the skirt of my dress in my fist tightly.
