Chapter 36. A Good Time

"Why are you coming in now?" His deep growl caused me to lose my footing in the dimly lit room as I stumbled into an object and almost slipped.
Then, I felt a strong arm around my waist, which prevented my body from connecting to the ground.
"I'm sorry, Alpha. Your mistress delayed me in her room until she decided that she was done with me." I replied and felt empty when he retracted his arm.
He snorted and made no other movement but remained closely behind me while my heart thumped faster against my chest. The air stayed still between us and the room charged with underlying currents of feelings we didn't want to identify.
I let out the breath I was holding when he finally put some distance between us, then I heard him sink on the bed.
"I don't need to remind you about joining me on the bed, Hermione." He stated coldly and I tucked my hair behind my ear, making way towards the bed I'd enjo
