"So how was the visit?" mom asked the moment Jessica was busy talking to dad about one of her clients who turn out to be one of his friends from college.

"Pretty bad, but as expected. That was why we postponed this dinner."

"It's okay, I understand. Hopefully, it'll be all happy experience from now on. You better treat her right, Tyler. She had enough bad ones already." Mom hugged me and told me to go keep her company while she finishes up with the dinner preparation.

"I will mom, you know I will." I kissed her cheek before leaving mom so she can go back to instructing the chef and his little crew back in the kitchen area.
