Chapter 23. Jasper

Monday came too soon, the weekend felt like a hangover. The baby variety one. And I was feeling the strange vibe the second I reached my desk in front of Kamaria's office.

This morning Jasper told me that he was going to go daycare shopping and take the day off and I nodded, not knowing how to respond to his words. Did he expect me to go with him?

"Benji, you're avoiding me." Jacqueline's voice beamed from behind me, while I was shifting through Kamaria's schedule for the next couple of days.

"Don't give me that, you're the one who's too busy for me and I'm staying at Jasper's. Girl, we need coffee for this talk, come on," Kamaria was out for her morning meeting and I swiftly grabbed my roommate's hand guided her to our office pantry.
