Joseph POV

I’m reclined on the sofa, very comfortable with my baby Austin cuddled against me when suddenly my phone vibrates. Upon glancing at the screen, I see that it’s Detective James flashing across it. My heart skips a glance as I wonder whether there is a twist in the case this time around.

I attempt to keep calm and composed since I do not want to wake up Austin who has finally managed to sleep after a tiresome day full of fussiness. So that he would not notice me going out, I slowly stand up and stride towards the other room before whispering into my phone.
