Ellen couldn't do anything right now. She couldn't help but obey Chase's commands and offer no resistance.

Chase went into the kitchen to get some cold water to keep his head from becoming too hot. Dealing with Ellen took a lot of patience, and now she was staring at Chase with a piercing gaze. In fact, that man should have been the one who gave Ellen a piercing stare that ruined everything.
