Chapter 89
Aubrey threw open the sliding window in her bedroom, letting the brisk air rush in and filling the space. When she looked up, she noticed that there were no stars in the sky. The entire village were surrounded by ominous-looking clouds, and the gusty wind gave her the impression that a storm was on the way.
She started the countdown on the timer on her phone, and she cheered when the first drop of rain fell from the sky a little a few moments later. She was accustomed to being able to gaze and take in the splendor of the magnificent mansions from afar on a moonless night, but it appeared as though she would be unable to do so tonight.
At the very least, it was pouring rain; thunder and lightning would have made the situation even more unsettling. After she had finally gotten comfortable in her bed, she went ahead and opened the windows so that she could hear the rain falling on the roof. As she listened to the lulling sound of the rain, she eventually succumbed to sleep
