Chapter 82. Away From Stress

Bridgette was crying at her apartment when Hawkins walked in.

“Babe?” he called on her, “What happened? You were crying when you called earlier, so I came as fast as I could.”

When Bridgette saw him, she hugged him tight and even wailed louder, “She’s gone, babe. She’s gone.”

Confused about what she was talking about, he just patted her back and then asked, “Easy, babe. Easy. Mind telling me who’s gone?”

She looked at him in demise and even ranted, “Chloe, of course! Who else?”

“What do you mean?”

“Gone! Gone! Gone! Thanks to your stupid asshole boss!” she hysterically yelled at him, who was innocent.

Still not getting the situation, Hawkins detached himself from her, then questioned her, “Hold up! Stop yelling and talk to me properly! Where is Mrs. Schneider now, babe?”
