“Stop what?” Jessica asked, her eyebrow going up.

He saw the expression on her face. As much as he wanted to be on a first-name basis with her, he was feeling a little intimidated. It was a strange feeling for him, and he did not know what to do with it.

“That thing you do,” Xavier said.

Jessica was truly confused by his words. He had not made any sense. He told her to stop, but omitted the important part of what she should stop doing.

After she visited Dawson’s hospital room today, she concluded that if his grandfather was looking out for him so much, there was no reason for her to frustrate him. She was not going to play the role of a doting wife, nor was she going to throw herself at him, hoping for a change in her life. She was simply going to live in peace with him.
