Chapter 18

Grace settled on the bed, taking off Adam’s coat and placing it there. She heaved a sigh, clearly feeling tired. Despite their relatively short journey of just an hour or two, exhaustion had already caught up with her.

“If you’re tired, take a rest. Don’t stress yourself,” Adam advised, looking at her as he retrieved something from his bag. She regarded him with confusion.

When he pulled out his laptop, Grace was taken aback. Adam De La Cruz, despite being on leave, was planning to work. What a workaholic.

“You’re going to work?” she asked, to which he nodded.

“Yeah, I have some pending documents to review. I need to go over them and send them to my assistant for the next presentation,” he explained, settling on the sofa and crossing his legs. He started working, and she observed his working style and posture. Soon, drowsiness overtook her, and she yawned, her eyes growing teary.
