“She needs some time, Miguel… Can’t you understand that? She lost her sister… It’s not just some random person…” Joao’s words were compassionate, and he looked at Grace, who was already on the verge of tears.

She suddenly got up, capturing their attention. Adam was about to inquire, but her words preempted him.

“I’ll go get something to drink for you guys,” she announced, forcing a smile, although both Joao and Adam could see through it. Adam and Joao were genuinely concerned.

She made her way to the kitchen, and tears welled up in her eyes. Grace wiped her tears before entering the kitchen. She prepared fresh juices for them, her eyes still shedding tears continuously. She felt guilty for what Adam had said a few minutes ago.
