Chapter 30

As she interacted with the pets, happiness enveloped her, making her forget the pain she had been holding onto, even if just for a while. She knelt to pet a fluffy kitten, her fingers gently ruffling its fur as it purred in response. Nearby, a group of playful puppies tumbled around, making her laugh at their cute antics.

Adam watched her with a smile, pleased to see her so engaged and happy. “I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself,” he said softly.

She looked up, her eyes sparkling. “This is amazing. It’s… it’s just so… I don’t even know how to put it into words. Thank you for bringing me here.”

After a while, they strolled through the property, stopping to admire a pair of elegant horses grazing in a nearby paddock.

“These horses are splendid,” she said, reaching out to stroke one of the horse’s velvety noses.

Adam nodded in agreement. “Indeed they are. I guess the owner takes great care of them. That’s why they’re in such good shape.”

“Do you know
