Chapter 33
“She must be tired.”
He quietly went to freshen up, not wanting to disturb her.
When he returned, he noticed that Grace had also freshened up and was helping the maids set the dinner table.
“You don’t have to do that,” Adam spoke, startling her.
“It… It’s okay, I’m doing nothing. It’s just a small work anyway,” Grace flashed a small smile, and Adam just nodded, joining her for dinner.
“There is a charity party tomorrow evening. Can you be my companion?” Adam invited.
“Well… I… I never attended those parties and all. I am afraid I will mess up. I don’t want to ruin anything.”
Grace’s straightforward refusal made Adam happy, for what? She was talking to him freely after so many silent treatments, and that was enough for him to get along with Grace. He promised Faith that he would take care of Grace on the day of the wedding, and he would do that till his last breath.
