Chapter 51

As the yellowish sun cast its rays through the sky, eclipsed by the skyscrapers, Adriel made his way to Adam’s cabin. He knew he had to share the news about Dr. Harold, even though it was the last thing he wanted to do at this hour.

Adriel knocked softly and entered the well-furnished cabin. Adam sat at a cluttered desk, checking some papers, his brows furrowed in concentration.

“Boss, I’ve got some news about Dr. Harold.”

Adam looked up as his tired eyes met Adriel’s. “What is it?” Adam asked.

“He’s not here, Boss. He’s off in America at some conference, which is about a new revolution in the psychiatric department.”

Adam’s irritation exploded to the peak. He had no idea that Dr. Harold would be gone for so long. “America? A conference? How long will he be away?”

“It seems he’d be gone for three weeks.”

Adam let out an exhausted sigh, running a hand through his disheveled hair. “Adriel, clear my schedule for next week,” Adam instructed f
