Chapter 63
In the middle of her work, Mrs. Esposito’s phone chimed an unexpected melody—her mom on the line which was an unexpected one. With a surprise washed over her face, she picked up and said, “Hey, Mom, what’s up?”
It’s been almost a few months since they called her.
Her mom dove into the conversation and asked about her grandchild directly, “How’s my favorite grandkid doing?” No names dropped, though.
Mrs. Esposito, rolling with it, replied, “Oh, you know, she is doing well, Mom.” Mrs. Esposito didn’t expect her mother would ask about Grace aka Faith. She tried to be cautious of the situation. They didn’t even come for the funeral or even a marriage and why did she call suddenly?
There was a chuckle from the other end, “Well, as long as she is doing good.”
