Grace’s trembling fingers dialed Adam’s number. It had been four days since they faced each other after they almost kissed each other. When he answered after just one ring, her pulse quickened, making her ears deaf instantly, she was caught off guard by the swift response.

The brief silence felt like an eternity before Adam’s voice broke through, “Hey!”

Grace hesitated to talk. “Hi,” she echoed. “I… I was thinking of going out,” Grace confessed.
