Chapter 70
Approaching the immigration counter, they presented their passports to the officer. The stern-faced official examined the documents, occasionally glancing at the travelers before stamping their passports.
“Welcome to the United States. Enjoy your stay,” the officer said with a nod, and Adam and Grace reciprocated with smiles.
With their passports now stamped and approved, they proceeded to the baggage claim area. The luggage carousel buzzed with activity. Adam kept a keen eye out for their belongings, and soon enough, their suitcases emerged from the mouth of the conveyor belt.
“Got them!” Adam said, lifting the bags. After getting their bags, they walked toward the exit.
The doors swung open. People rushed by, taxis lined up, and the distant sound of traffic filled the air. When they came out of the airport, someone waved their hand toward Grace and Adam.
