Chapter 86
Grace entered the familiar doorway of her home, kinda hesitated and half-hearted. It’s been a few days since Adam confessed. After that day they didn’t have any kind of conversation. He was pretty angry at her for the baseless words she uttered but he couldn’t avoid her.
Mrs. Esposito greeted her with open arms and a beaming smile. “Grace, it’s been too long,” she exclaimed, pulling her into a tight embrace. After that day, when Adam left Grace here for his meeting, it was her first time to come home.
“Hi, Mom,” Grace replied, reciprocating the hug, but something in her expression hinted at a distance. Mrs. Esposito noticed but brushed it off, Grace’s body was still stiffened by the physical contact with her mom. That’s so strange that she was able to accept a few but her mother was not one of them.
“Let’s get in.” Mrs. Esposito dragged the younger woman to the couch and ordered the maids to prepare coffee.
