Chapter 59

Daniel’s POV

The conference room felt colder than usual that morning. The big oak table stretched out, covered with screens showing numbers and charts. I sat at the main spot but Jake did most of the talking leading the meeting.

My mind still buzzed from the party last night seeing Ellie Davis with my father had been a huge shock. That feeling had not left me. My gut still twisted with questions I couldn’t answer. I tried to focus on the meeting on our new company plans but part of my mind was stuck on Ellie.

Jake who was usually sharp and funny could tell something was off with me. He kept glancing at me his brow furrowed a little but he kept talking to the team. “So our next step needs to be fast” he said. He tapped a pen on a screen showing sales numbers. “We need to push hard on new housing deals. Daniel and I have been planning this for months now is the time to act.”
