Chapter 3
I twitched my shoulder, still confused by the strange attitude that was on me.
“I still can’t believe that someone like me can defeat all five college gangsters.”
“What? Try again. Did I hear you wrong?” Josh asked once more while leaning his body forward a little.
“I just raised my hand a little, and suddenly the five campus gangsters fell one by one and felt pain,” I said in a low voice.
Josh’s eyes widened; he covered his gaping mouth with his palm and said, “Really?”
I shook my head while stirring the drink.
Josh then took the daily newspaper from the living room. He opened the pages of the newspaper with trembling hands.
“Look! In a small town in New York City, people recently found a man who was half wolf. The characteristics are the same as what you are experiencing right now,” Josh said, pointing to an article that contained images of humans having fangs and wolf eyes.
I took the newspaper and read it carefully.
“But it’s impossible. Here it is explained that an ordinary human can become a werewolf if she is bitten by another werewolf, but I am not,” I denied.
“I’m a human being, Josh! I’m the same as you; no one bites me,” I added in a louder voice.
“What about your dreams? You told me that dream felt real, didn’t you?” Josh is trying to convince me, even though he doesn’t know what really happened to his friend.
I was silent. I held my long neck for the umpteenth time.
“But there’s no way; I’ve never even met a werewolf before. Is this a curse?”
Josh and I looked at each other and thought the same thing.
“Hi, Alice... hi, Josh? Are you guys ready?” I asked Shanun, who walked with a twisty body movement, showing a perfect appearance in front of her two friends.
“Oh, my God! What’s wrong with you, Alice?” she added that he was surprised to see a little blood on my lips.
I immediately stroked myself and refuted, “Ah, it’s okay.” I just drank the strawberry juice Josh made and probably left a little bit on my lips.
“Seriously?”
“Yes, the juice Josh made tasted so good that I gulped wildly,” I replied.
I feel hesitant when I have to tell Shanun what really happened.
I am worried that Shanun will be uncomfortable with my existence if I find out what really happened, although I herself also feel strange around Shanun, who almost every morning always appears with a rowdy voice from inside her room.
“Take a shower; the show will start in thirty minutes; we don’t want to be late, right?” said Shanun while combing her hair with both hands.
“Oh, okay. Wait. I’ll take a quick shower.” The answer is then rushed to go to the bathroom.
In the stream of water that flowed very fast from the shower, I closed my eyes. The view it gets is dark. I closed my eyes and suddenly imagined that the black wolf again appeared and was about to pounce on me.
“Aaaa!”
I shouted, which immediately opened my eyes again. I turned off the faucet, and with a panting breath, I was frightened by the wolf that always appeared in my sleep and when I closed my eyes.
“It was like real; I almost died seeing the wolf so close to my body,” I murmured inwardly.
I spent a lot of time in the shower. In slow motion, I walked over and opened the closet, choosing a dress that would be appropriate to wear at a dinner that I thought would be very luxurious.
“I don’t even have good clothes,” I grumbled with both hands placed on my waist, looking at the closet that didn’t have many clothes in it.
Escorted by Josh and also Shanun, my life is indeed simpler. That’s because she is still in college; for monthly money, I still rely on my parents.
Josh and Shanun are already working, and each is not married, which makes them like to buy what they want to buy.
Not infrequently, I more often succumbed to Shanun, because Shanun often treated him to food and also bought things that I wanted; although not often, this was very helpful to me.
“Knock... knock...!”
The sound of the door knocking was heard, and I woke up from my reverie. I walked out of the bedroom.
“You just wear this shirt,” said Shanun, handing me the clothes that were still covered.
Because of her profession as a model, Shanun almost buys new clothes every day.
“Waw... very nice dress,” I said admiringly while stretching a sexy red dress.
“Put it on; we don’t have time anymore,” Shanun ordered, who then left me behind.
With a radiant face, I immediately put on the shirt.
“What a beauty!” I murmured, praising myself while standing in front of the mirror.
The dress shows my long neck, and the slightly open dress model shows my smooth arms and thighs. Only this time, I was amazed by my own beauty.
“Aw!”
The pain was felt again in my neck. I was in pain while holding my neck. “Why is it often like this?”
I ignored the pain and walked over to Shanun.
“Wow, you are so beautiful,” Shanun praised as she looked at the appearance from head to toe.
“Thank you; you are so much more beautiful,” replied me, who also praised.
“Hmm... Shanun, Alice, I’m sorry I can’t seem to come,” Josh said as he smoothed his unruly hair.
“Why?” I and Shanun asked simultaneously.
“Jeremy suddenly asked me out tonight, and I couldn’t turn him down.”
“Ow...” they both answered back at the same time, nodding their heads.
“Jeremy has been busy lately; he refuses every time I ask him to meet. And how happy I was when he suddenly texted me and asked me to meet,” Josh said with a smile of his own. Now he took turns tidying up his clothes.
Jeremy is Josh’s girlfriend. Being gay makes Josh not always feel happy. He feels the same way as people in general. Disappointment, anger, and jealousy were the daily fare for him.
“Beep!”
The sound of a horn was heard from outside the house. Jeremy has come to pick Josh up in his new car.
“He’s coming; I’ll go first, bay...!” Josh waved his hand as he walked over to Jeremy.
“Bay, happy dating!” said Shanun while waving Josh’s hand back.
I let out a long sigh. I was happy to see the happiness felt by my friends, who always cook delicious food for me.
“Beep!”
The horn sounded again. Now coming is Mate, Shanun’s friend and photographer.
“Come on, has he come?” asked Shanun, who walked out of the house followed by me.
“Hi, have you been waiting for me for a long time?” asked Mate.
“No, even though you came earlier than scheduled,” Shanun replied as she opened the car door. She sat parallel to Mate, while I sat behind them.
Mate felt the scent of fresh blood when Shanun got into the car. His nose sniffed.
“Mate, control yourself!” whispered Shanun.
