Chapter 4

“Ah, okay,” replied the wavering mate.

“Mate, introduce him to my friend, or more precisely, a friend who is at home with me,” Shanun said, introducing me to Mate.

“Hi, my name is Mate; it’s nice to meet you,” Mate said as he thrust his hand out to invite me to shake hands.

“Hi, I’m Alice. Nice to meet you,” I replied as I welcomed Mate’s hand.

When their two hands touched, Mate felt cold blood flowing through his body. The smell of my fragrant body makes Mate almost unable to control himself.

By turning around, Mate pushes his body forward so that he almost bumps into me, who is sitting sweetly in the back seat.

“Mate? What are you doing?” shouted Shanun.

Shanun pulled Mate’s stocky arm. “Have you gone mad?”

Instantly, Mate returned to his sitting position. With a gasping breath, he tried to control himself.

Meanwhile, I was surprised to see what had happened just now. She holds the chest, trying to keep it looking fine.

“Are you all right, Alice?” Shanun asked.

“Yes, I’m fine, no problem,” I replied, taking a deep breath while looking to the right and left of the car window.

Being in a threatened position like what was experienced just now made me realize that I no longer felt like a werewolf.

“Why don’t I fight back? Why aren’t my fangs showing up?” she muttered inwardly while grinding her teeth.

Having not yet received an answer about what is happening inside my body, I am again confused by the strangeness that does not appear when Mate tries, as it would harm me.

Slowly, Mate runs his car. From the rearview mirror, Mate repeatedly looks at me.

“Beautiful; she is very beautiful,” he said softly.

Although Mate spoke slowly, it turned out that his words were heard in Shanun’s ears.

“What are you saying? Didn’t you promise not to reveal yourself?” Shanun’s order was whispered to Mate.

Mate closed his eyes for a moment, trying to control himself. He tried to hide the two fangs that began to appear behind his slightly darkened lips.

Without me knowing, Mate is actually a black werewolf. He disguised himself as a human because he wanted to find his life partner.

Arriving at the restaurant, I walked behind Shanun and Mate, who walked first. Some of Shanun and Mate’s friends had already gathered in the corner of the restaurant room.

“Hi, here?” shouted one of them while waving his arms.

Shanun, Mate, and even I walked up to them. Some of the dishes served at the table were shared by four people, named Petter, Jack, Angela, and Lubna.

“Hi, long time, buddy? We’ve almost finished half the meal,” Petter chattered as he shook hands with Mate.

“Sorry, we enjoyed the trip so much that it didn’t feel like it took longer than usual,” Mate replied.

“Hi, Shanun...!” Say hello to Angela.

“Hi, too, Angela. How are you?” Shanun replied while sitting side by side with Angela.

“Okay.”

When Shanun and Mate greeted each other’s friends, I was still standing at a distance of one meter. While continuing to hold her two fingers, I could only be silent while occasionally smiling to see Shanun greet her friends.

“Oh, yes, introduce her; she is Alice, my friend,” Shanun said, introducing me.

“Hi, nice to meet you all,” I replied, bowing slightly.

The four Shanun friends saw my appearance from head to toe. Almost all they think is the same: that I look so beautiful and graceful.

However, a slightly different view was perceived by Petter. He smelled the scent of fresh blood and a slight wolf smell on my body.

Petter sniffed; he clarified his sense of smell, hoping that what was perceived was wrong.

“Come and sit down!” invited Shanun.

I walked closer and closer and sat right in the middle between Mate and Petter.

Petter is also almost the same as Mate. He is a black werewolf. Petter sniffed again while closing his eyes, and a strange feeling arose as he stared at me closer and closer.

“Human, but why is it different?” He murmured inwardly.

“Alice, let’s eat. Don’t be shy,” said Angela as she went back to pick up potato sticks to break the ice.

“Oh, yes, of course,” I replied with a sweet smile.

Mate seemed to know what Petter was feeling. He then got up from his seat and moved his seat right in between me and Petter.

“It would be nice if I sat here,” he said curtly.

What Mate did confused all his friends.

“Hi, Mate? You got a problem?” asked Jack.

“No, I just want to be close to this delicious pizza so I can take it easy,” she replied, grabbing a slice of pizza and eating it.

“Since when do you like to eat pizza? Don’t you prefer meat?” replied Angela.

Hearing what was said by Angela made the eighty-year-old man choke.

“You okay?” asks me, who then swiftly fetches a drink for Mate.

“Here, drink!” she added while handing a glass of drinks served at the dinner table.

“Thank you,” replied Mate in a cough-holding voice, then gulped until the gulping sound was very clear.

“Are you okay?” asked me.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” Mate replied as he looked into my eyes.

I am unaware if my presence is noticed by the two black werewolves. My body scent had created an inner debate between Mate and Petter. Beautiful, graceful, and full of mystery—that’s what Mate and Petter feel toward me.

While they were enjoying the dinner, suddenly a scream was heard that caught their attention.

“Please...!”

A small child was hanging on the second floor of the restaurant with both hands holding onto the barrier.

Everyone panicked and ran to help. However, because the child’s position was at an altitude and away from the stairs, it was difficult for everyone to help.

When Mate and Petter were about to get out of their seats to help the little boy, I first got up and ran.

I stopped my steps right under the little boy. I am not like myself. I raised my hand in an open palm position.

As if someone was holding him, the little boy’s body lifted and returned to the second floor in his mother’s arms.

What I managed to do astonished everyone in the restaurant. Everyone does not blink. See my action to save the little boy who almost lost his life.

When I managed to save the little boy, I turned around and was about to return to my seat. How surprised I was when I saw that everyone was looking at me with strange gazes—some were even frightened.

“Oh, my god! What did I just do?” I said, covering my mouth with both palms and hurrying to the restroom.

“Wait!” Mate shouted as he ran after me.
