Brightly lit Ferris wheels, whirling rides, and colorful booths created a vibrant spectacle that seemed to stretch endlessly. Murat stood rooted near his car, staring at the scene in complete disbelief.
His guards in disguise were already circling the place, the rest of the family close.
“Out of all the places in the world, you brought us here? A carnival?” he asked, his brow furrowing as his lips pressed into a thin line.
“Why wouldn’t I?” Ayleen countered, her face glowing with childlike excitement.
Murat puckered his brows in frustration. She didn’t seem like a person who would be okay in a crowded place.
“I mean, of all the exquisite places we could visit, a carnival seems a little… unrefined.”
