Chapter 156
The soft glow of morning light crept into the room, casting a warm hue over the walls. Ayleen stirred, her eyes fluttering open to the sight of Murat’s face inches away from hers. He was still sound asleep, his features calm, almost boyish in his peaceful slumber. His strong arms were wrapped securely around her waist, holding her in place as if she were his anchor.
A smile tugged at her lips as she studied him. Quiet moments like these were rare with Murat, and she treasured them more than she cared to admit. Her fingers found their way to his hair, gently massaging his scalp. He stirred slightly, a soft sigh escaping his lips.
Turning her head, her eyes widened as they fell on the clock hanging on the wall. Seven in the morning. She gasped quietly. Had they really slept this long?
She attempted to slip out of his hold, moving as carefully as she could, but Murat groaned softly, tightening his grip around her waist. She froze, biting her lip to suppress a laugh.
