That woman was close. Too close.
Ayleen’s fingers clenched against the fabric of her dress as she observed the woman leaning toward Murat, speaking in a hushed yet flirtatious tone.
Murat, however, remained unfazed, his expression unreadable.
But that didn’t matter.
Ayleen pushed herself up from her seat, her steps firm and unwavering as she made her way toward them.
As she approached, the woman’s voice became clearer.
“You know, Mr. Khan, men like you are rare. Powerful. Mysterious. Women must find it hard to resist you,” the woman purred, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, her gaze shamelessly drinking him in.
Ayleen felt something snap inside her.
Before Murat could respond, Ayleen smoothly stepped in, her arm wrapping possessively around his own.
“Love, I was waiting for you,” she said, her voice laced with a sweetness that carried an underlying challenge.
