Chapter 205
Murat froze. The words hit harder than the physical pain gnawing at his body. He stared at her, speechless, unable to process the raw anguish on her face.
“How could you do this?” she screamed, stepping closer. “How could you even think of taking your own life? Without thinking about me? About us?”
Her fists pounded weakly against his chest. Each hit sent fresh waves of pain through his abdomen, but Murat barely noticed. The ache in his chest, her words cut deeper.
“Ayleen—I wasn’t—”
“Oh, don’t lie to me!” Her voice cracked, drowning in despair. “Do we mean nothing to you? Uncle Ibrahim, me, our child, do we not matter at all?”
Murat tried to respond, but no words came. He inhaled sharply, trying to steady his breathing. The pain stabbed again deeper, sharper. Still, he said nothing.
