His smile deepened, reaching his weary eyes. “I would have never learned that sometimes what you lose isn’t meant for you. That sometimes, by losing what you thought you needed, you find what you truly deserve.”
Selina bit her lip, blinking rapidly to keep her tears from falling.
“I have learned,” Murat continued, “that getting lost in the past blinds you to the people who are genuinely there for you. I spent years beating my head against cold stones, and in doing so, almost lost the diamond fate had given me.”
