Chapter 12. Powering Up

“You want to shoot a man from behind,” said Jimmy as he slowly turned to face the creature. “That’s against the rules of engagement.”

Everything about Jimmy has been heightened. When the creature raised his lethal weapon toward him, he sensed it.

“Screw you!” the creature roared in a monster’s voice, squeezing the trigger. A glowing blue ball traveled toward Jimmy at the speed of a bullet.

On a hit, Jimmy’s body absorbed the glowing blue balls. The creature was shocked. He was expecting the effect to be massive like it always was with the humans. On a hit, the glowing blue ball would blast the victim away with a deadly shockwave.
